My Heart Belongs to a Keyboard

There are few things in life that capture our hearts and souls. They end up becoming part of us and we cannot imagine our life without them.

As we grow, we may change our passion and hobbies, but the tried and true will always remain.

Younger Years

I remember being in school as a young girl and my teacher would give us a certain amount of time to write a story on anything that we wanted. I remember how magical it felt to pick up a pencil and put it on paper. When the teacher told the class that time was up for the assignment, I remember always feeling like I wasn’t done. I wanted to write forever.

My love of writing remained outside of the classroom as well. As children, my sister and I created books in which we would take computer paper, staple it together, and write a storybook. Our imaginations went wild.

When I got a little bit older and even into my preteen and early teenage years, I began to journal and keep a diary. I remember the feeling of hardly being able to wait to write in my diary every night. I was excited to write about my day and express myself. I loved the way my pen would glide across the page.

Today

I used to handwrite all of my stories as a draft first before typing them, but over time, I chose to go straight to my laptop to create my work.

Writing in general has me falling in love every day, no matter how it is created, whether it be via pen and paper, or laptop, it is all works of art and it is a beautiful process. I have come to love the way typing on a keyboard feels.

Blissful Experience

With my fingers placed on the keys, the keyboard is mine. I can then enter my thoughts and feelings and begin to express myself. The keyboard lets me be myself and I become one with the keys.

Just picturing the feeling of my fingers dancing around the keyboard is enough to bring me great joy. I can’t wait to create and see what my fingers will come up with next. The sound of the keys clicking means thoughts are flowing. It’s all an amazing experience!

My heart belongs to a keyboard and when I am not writing, I feel lost. I wait for the next free moment to feel the natural high. I love and miss the keys. They are part of me, just as writing is.

The whole world is open to me, even one that exists only in my mind and on my screen.

The whole world is literally at my fingertips!

So Many Words

“I don’t have words,” is not a phrase that you will find me saying very often. It is usually quite the opposite. I am so in love with words and with language and how numerous words strung together can form the most beautiful piece.

I have loved writing ever since I was a little girl. Today it has become part of my soul, I would be lost without it. I love being able to sit down with my laptop or pen and paper and let the words and thoughts flow freely. I love the fact that my work may touch someone else, maybe they will find it relatable, and helpful, and maybe it will motivate them, or even help them grow.

So Much to Say

I always feel like there is so much to say and so much to share with the world. I am hardly a woman of a few words. I can’t seem to write a card or a letter without it being many paragraphs long, even a text message to a loved one is hardly ever short and sweet, it contains many words and emotions. I am a very deep thinker and I love deep conversation.

Ironically, when verbally speaking with others, I am more of the listener than the talker, but when I write I can’t stop “talking.” I cannot seem to write using just a few words, there is so much on my mind and in my heart to say.

To say that I love words is an understatement, they are a part of me and my life, they bring me happiness and they help connect me with others. Words are so powerful.

As A Writer

As a writer, I would be nothing without the precious words that I have to convey my thoughts and feelings and communicate with the world around me.

Given that you are reading this right now, I presume that you are also a lover of words, a lover of reading and writing.

Thoughts

I have always wondered why people like myself are so drawn to words and writing. My take is that we are very deep thinkers, and we naturally are drawn to wanting to share our innermost thoughts and ideas with the world. We naturally want to make a difference; we want to help the world. I think most of us have stories and life experiences that we want to share to make an impact.

Writing is such a beautiful form of art; it allows us to get a glimpse of the author’s world and innermost feelings. As you go about your day, remember how important your knowledge is to other individuals, and remember that your words will make a lasting impact!

The Importance of a Hobby

What are you passionate about? Chances are, you have a hobby or pastime that truly brings you joy and allows you to grow as a person. Many common hobbies are writing, art, sports, fishing, collections, for example.

Your hobbies and interests may have changed since you were younger, but hopefully you have some sort of hobby or personal interest that really sets your soul on fire! Think of your favorite pastime and how it makes you feel. Think of how this hobby makes you feel like you and makes you feel complete. It’s very important to have something in life that you can always turn to and be excited about no matter what you are going through.

My absolute favorite hobby is writing! I’ve actually thoroughly enjoyed writing since I was a little girl. I’ve grown to love it even more so as an adult. Writing makes me feel so free and it helps me express myself and I have hopes that my work will help others in some way. I want to pass on the life lessons that I’ve learned. Thank you to Arushi for this blog post recommendation and all of your support! What are some of your favorite hobbies?

A Side of Me

There are different sides to us that come about as we navigate through life.  We may have a shy, serious, confident, or anxious side.  There are many sides to someone and they are uniquely ours, they make up our personality.  Some sides of us go quiet until they are awakened, or provoked, others are a daily part of who we are.

Blogging brings out a side of me that is seen on a regular basis, but also a side that very few people get to see in my personal life.  By nature, I am a very silly and goofy person, I love to laugh and to make people laugh.  My sense of humor is rarely seen in my blogs because blogging brings out a more serious side of me.  Those who know me in real life know that serious is not typically a word to describe me, I am more of a laid back and goofy person.  I very much enjoy talking about deep topics and life experiences, but not all people like to engage in that sort of conversation and even for me it takes a special person, one that I am comfortable with, for me to bring that side out.

I thoroughly enjoy blogging, it is such a huge passion of mine.  I will actually be writing a blog post at some point dedicated to the reasons why I love to blog so much.  Blogging takes me to a different place, a different world, it is almost like when you hear people who love to read say they got lost in a book, or when you sit down to watch a movie, how it kind of takes you away from your own life and into another realm.  Through blogging, one can see my reflective, serious, deep-in-thought side, it brings out much more depth of my soul that I don’t show to many in my everyday life.  My thoughts start to flow as soon as I pick up a pen.

Blogging can be very personal as the blogger is typically writing about their innermost thoughts and life experiences.  I know many of my posts are inspired by these two things although my blogs are not extremely personal because I tend to direct my thoughts and experiences more to the general public in hopes that they will in some way inspire, enlighten, motivate, and make others feel connected.  I also tend to indirectly link my personal life into my blog posts.

I suppose that maybe this is why people like hobbies, they bring out different sides of us, they are a form of expression, they allow us to be ourselves.  Whatever you have a passion for, whatever sets your soul on fire, add that to your life and see where it takes you!
