I Had a Friend

Some of the things that we have in life, we won’t have forever, in fact many things. Life is ever-changing and the people and things currently in our lives may not be there in the future, but somehow we learn to adapt.

I recently had a close friend that I have mainly lost touch with. Nothing happened between us, just contact had become one-sided. I would always reach out to my friend, yet this friend would hardly reach out to me. Time changes, people change, we come to realize a lot as time passes and we must accept and/or adapt to whatever is thrown at us, no matter if we do not like it.

This goes back to a blog post that I wrote a while back mentioning how not everyone is meant to stay in your life, some come to teach us lessons, or come in a time of need. This individual and and I are still friends, however our friendship has changed so much and we don’t talk as often, still when we do there is a lot of love for each other, but it’s not the same. Have peace in your heart knowing that things happen as they should and that people meant to stay close to you will never astray.

Photograph

Have you ever looked at a photograph of yourself and thought of how many things have happened to you since that picture was taken? All of the dreams and desires you once had, you may now actually have. All of the unexpected situations and roadblocks you have encountered, you now have the strength and growth that came from them.

One picture shows the passage of time. Time truly changes everything and it changes us. We can look back on a photo from years and years ago and realize that we are not quite that same person anymore. We have grown and experienced so much since that photo was taken. We can look back at where we were and many of us never dreamed we would be where we are today. Hold onto photographs for they are capturing memories and a person that is ever-changing!

A Winding Path

Life as we know it has many ups and downs. It will take us on many adventures along the way with many roadblocks, detours, and victories. Life is full of many unknowns, some good, some bad, some in-between. One thing for sure, it will keep us on our toes.

There are many beliefs about life, everyone has their own viewpoint. For me, I believe that everyone has been given a certain life path to help them grow and learn while here in the physical world. While I believe there can be deviations to our path, for the most part, I believe that we are destined to go through certain things and that our path is unique to us and designed for us to achieve the optimum growth that we possibly can. Others may disagree, this is just my belief and opinion!

When we were younger, we most likely had a vision of how life would unfold for us, or how we had hoped for it to unfold. Maybe there are some of you who’s lives have turned out exactly how you expected it to, but for a lot of us, I feel like the journey has been quite the opposite of what we expected. I know for me, my journey has been far from what I had anticipated.

We have always been told to try hard not to worry about the future, but to focus on the present instead. The future that we try to plan for now may look very different once we get there. Life and circumstances are ever-changing, we could be worrying about something that will never happen, or that may happen, but in a completely different context.

No one likes to face battles, darkness, or suffering and sadly all of these things are a part of life. The beauty of these hard times is the joy that we receive from overcoming these challenging moments in life, the feeling of growth, strength, and maturation. Life is going to throw a lot of things at us and our strength is what will help us conquer it all.

Each of your lives is very precious and very special. The path that you have been given will for sure be a winding one, but my hope is that you will see the beauty in the path that has been uniquely laid out for you!

An Overview of the Seasons

The seasons come and go just like the days of our lives. For some places of the world you may only have one or a few seasons and others, like where I live, we have four. I am thankful to be able to experience all four seasons and what they have to offer. I notice that each of the seasons brings out a different part of myself and evokes many beloved memories.

The year starts during the season of winter. I used to not like the bitter cold, or the massive blizzards that winter can possibly bring, but I have come to embrace it. I enjoy snuggling under a blanket, drinking tea or hot chocolate, staying cozy indoors, baking, and watching movies. Winter is a season that helps me conserve my energy and reflect inwards. It’s definitely a season full of self-reflection for me, a reminder to sit back and enjoy a slower pace of life. There’s nothing like standing outside after a huge snowstorm and just being one with the still and silence of the world.

Spring follows with slightly warmer temperatures, a reminder that things that we see as cold and dark do have an end and eventually do see light. The insects and other creatures resurface and life starts to unfold again. Spring is an awakening of my soul. The warmer air and the budding of the flowers and trees are a reminder that even in the darkest times, life will flourish again.

The long hot days of summer really make me feel alive. The warm sun on my skin the fresh cool breeze bring me to life and give me energy. The summer is so freeing. Trips to the beach…what an amazing place for your soul. The summer months are big in helping me feel free, inspired, and motivated. It’s a little slice of Heaven to feel the sun on your skin and warmth after a long winter.

Lastly fall…one of my favorite times of the year. After the heat of summer, the cool fresh breeze is so welcomed. Fall is such a cozy and refreshing time of year for me. The leaves change color marking the passage of time and as they eventually begin to drop off we end up transitioning back into winter…and there you have it, the seasons will continue to cycle through and through.

As we make our way through each season, I am reminded of the passage of time and the beauty that life has to offer. Life won’t always be beautiful, there will be many challenges that we will face, but life is ever-changing and moves on just like the seasons. Cherish every moment and have a beautiful day!
